Why decentralisation is more important than blockchain

Blockchain and cryptocurrency have brought the concept of decentralization into the public sphere. But it’s important to remember that blockchain is not a synonym for decentralization, and there are a number of alternative decentralized technologies that are rapidly gathering steam. These include peer-to-peer web, federation via ActivityPub, and other complementary approaches.
